Bree's ten commandments!
These are not rules per se (Lesus and Lesus only decides those). These are simply things I learned from last cycle that I think could severely benefit you. Obviously I can't make anyone follow them, but just keep these in mind when dealing with other users (especially me... oh dear... I've become Furonda).
1. Thou shalt not be late!
Nothing is more annoying than a model handing in pictures late. I never handed in a picture late last cycle, and I have a busy university schedule with a job and extracurricular - it is possible!! It is also possible to turn out absolutely BEAUTIFUL pictures even on a time budget.
2. Thou shalt not be Ballard
Because, there can only be one Ballard.
3. Thou shalt not fight the judges
It won't get you anywhere; it'll just make you look worse. There were a couple tantrums last year that we all know Sweet Baby Lesus could have done without.
4. Thou shalt take it outside!
As some may know, another contestant and I got into a very public argument last cycle, in which both of us, particularly me, got out of hand and hurtful. If a contestant is really genuinely pissing you off, I'd suggest it's probably best to PM them (and of course confessionalize it to Sweet Tyra, for drama purposes). It just makes everyone else uncomfortable.
5. Thou shalt not fish for compliments
Or I will call you Giselle. And maybe "Fatty-Fatty-Boo-Balatty."
6. Thou shalt buddy up to the judges with caution.
Everyone should be polite and courteous to the judges. However, if you are going to form a friendship with the judges, make sure it is a genuine friendship and not one that you hope will get you their vote. I'm not saying don't be friends with us, but don't expect it to get you anywhere. Sweet Lesus was my buddy (still is) and he still voted for Jeraldo. You can't brainwash us!!
7. Thou shalt flex thine creative muscle
Being gorgeous isn't enough! I know we get that on the real ANTM every cycle, but it totally isn't. Being a one-trick pony will not get you anywhere either. I'd take a lesson from Lucy or Manny here - they never looked the same twice and they really went all-out to make their pictures more than pictures - they were performances. If I see a bunch of Myspace-esque shots over and over I will become irate (which you cannot spell "pirate" without!)
8. Thou shalt follow the freakin' brief, people!
Gorgeous picture or not, not doing what you're told could get you in the bottom two. So many of us went against the brief last cycle much to the chargin of the judges... specific shoots I can think of were our Vogue covers, our killer shots, our pajama shots, and our Jeffree Star shots. Just follow the brief, and hope that someone doesn't and screws up so you get a free ticket!!
9. Thou shalt offer critiques in moderation
It doesn't hurt to offer some advice and be realistic with your peers about their performance. But at the same time, no one asked you. So if you end up offending someone and they tell you, at least apologize. For example, Ballard once called my personal style "obnoxious," and called Blom's pictures "gay." Those crossed little invisible lines. Just remember when dishing out advice, that you're not a judge, so people are allowed to get offended.
10. Thou shalt have fun!!
Srsly. This can be one of the funnest things you do all year - it was for me! Not even lying!

That's Ballard for you... personally, I think it IS possible to have obnoxious personal style (MELROSE!!) but I actually don't see how I have ANY personal style. I wear jeans and T-shirts and have short brown hair that I don't do much with.

wait, wait, wait. i can't figure out if you're talking about personality or clothes. are there obnoxious clothingsz? i want.
Re: Bree's ten commandments!
I think he meant the way I styled myself was very obnoxious. He later retracted the insult and referred to my style as "spunky." I don't understand that claim that my style is obnoxious because I try to be very inconspicuous with the way I style myself.

i think it's possible for someone's attitude to be obnoxious, which yours is clearly not, but someone's style??? you would think someone who calls someone's pictures "gay" would be the last one to call out someone else for being obnoxious. i'm glad i missed this because i would've started a bitchfight over it. i try to stay nice, but sometimes people are just plain iggnant.
Re: Bree's ten commandments!
It caused a lot of drama, especially at the beginning of the competition. Ballard calling my style obnoxious was towards the end of the competition - that's the "reformed" Ballard. Towards the beginning he was really putting up an intimidation front... he called Marlee an ugly duckling over and over and was pretty hard on almost anyone who got called before him. He also really seemed to have something out for Lucy.

that's ridiculous. the other competition i was in had someone like that. he was in it for 4 weeks and was in the bottom half of the competition the entire time, whining about how his picture deserved to be called first and how he was the only one there who actually had what it took to win. his elimination was really a good riddance for everyone... one time he said i should've been eliminated when i was called first and i told him he couldn't take a picture to save his life and the only reason his was kept after week 2 was out of pity(week one's eliminees were people who dropped out so everyone else stayed by default). i can be pretty harsh when someone takes a bad attitude; i try not to, but i have this "show them how it feels" attitude when they're treating people like crap.
Re: Bree's ten commandments!
I hope ballard doesn't come here and say that shit. That really pisses me off when people think they know everything and just say whatever they want.

Well I just wanna let you all know that my critiques may be harsh but I will never NOT be understanding. And I will never make personal jabs at you. That's just wrong. I like to be supportive!!

But don't you always say you're indie?? lol
And this is totally random for this topic, but how come Avess is in the thingy at the top instead of Audrey? Although Avess IS pretty bomb. lol. and woo! I totally made that TV and logo!

Re: Bree's ten commandments!
Yes Erik, I DO consider my style moderately "indie." If you want to shove me into a category I'd think I'd fit in there. However, nothing about the way I dress is particularly outlandish. It's nothing too obnoxious. It's not like I'm Avril "I'm the Syd Vicious of my generation" Lavigne. Fucking girl making Canadians look like jackasses.
And I believe these were some of Leezie's personal favourite pics of the whole competition. I know his favourite pics of last cycle were Kazara's recycling shot followed by Avess's beauty shot, and this past cycle his faves were my Jeffree folowed closely by Jeraldo's Grazia. But maybe for those two pictures, it was easier to see a tiny picture of the particular pics of us he chose. I can assume those are probably his next-favourite pics of the two of us.

panana phone!
i don't like the word shove. it sounds hostile. i would place myself in the... um... eh, i'm literally a bit of everything. a bit of normal, a bit of ghetto, a bit of indie, a bit of punk, a little prep, and some hipster, but not the kind without personality, just the style. lol

I am too busy being short! You know I'm working hard to get that all short people edition of vogue magazine!! It's had me so busy that I haven't had time to sue people. Me and Erik get to be in it, but not Bree cause she might as well play for the WNBA lol BTW I'm so happy Mel is suing in my absence, beware her legal wrath!
Anyone seen the episode of south park with the "don't sue people Panda"? classic.
