people sometimes make fun of me when i speak spanish cause i use spanglish a lot.
if i'm in mexico, i just tell them "at least i speak better english than you". if i'm here, i just say "at least i speak better french than you"

yeah, people say I should speak Spanish more but when I do I sound dumb haha I once had to speak to some Hispanic highschool students about college bs in Spanish. The only question they had was " why do u speak so strange?" LOL keep in mind I'm also Korean and u can guess my Spanish accent isn't great LOL

everyone in my french class was like "we"(oui) and the teacher was just all "that's not how you say it!"
she always told me i had the best french accent in all of her classes and i totally bragged about that.

she knew i was good, i knew it, and the whole class knew it.

kids can be assholes. the hardest thing is getting over that "i'm afraid of saying it wrong" feeling. not that I am French, but I have studied French for 8 years, but still when I go to France I totally chicken out when I'm about to order something or address a Frenchman in general. I just beg my friends or family to do it. because I feel so damn intimidated and I'm afraid of saying something wrong and/or sounding like a 'tard.

thats exactly how I feel, I'm just more comfortable with English. But the only way to speak a foreign language better is to speak LOL

it's a very interesting topic, ballardmerross, so you should totally do it. i bet everyone's got so much to say about this, experiences with different languages and such. especially if you're at least bilingual.

I've tried to listen to Spanish tv, but its not so easy to pick up all the words and accent. I picked up a hybrid Korean Spanish accent as a child, learned English in school, then took French for 5 years in highschool. I'm all jacked up LOL Spanish speakers on tv are especially fast I noticed

and spanish, but it's castilian and not like north american spanish, it's like saying british engligh or american english, i speak the british kind, so that means words are different in meaning, like
