PHOTOSHOOT BRIEF NUMBER 1!!

Hello everyone!

Before the first Judging Panel, you will be completing TWO photoshoots!

This week is all about raw talent and potential.
Your first photoshoot is entitle "Framed" and is taken from Phillipine's Next Top Model- in this cycle, it was called "Couture Portraits", but we will be doing something a little different. You will be posing inside a picture frame. There is no strict brief for this shoot, it is a chance for you to show us a little bit about who you are as a person and give us an idea of your personality. I urge you to be creative, because it is this that will help you stand out from the pack! This is just a head and shoulders shot and you must have a real picture frame in the shot, not just one pasted over the top like I did with your pre-show pictures. You may submit THREE photos (frames) and they MUST be in by Next Thursday, 8th Jan. If you are unsure how to go about sending me these photos, refer to the rules in the "PreShow Antics" topic. When I have received this first shoot, I will offer some quick advice that you might like to use for your second shoot, which is.....

The second photoshoot is from Cycle 3 of Australia's Next Top Model. You will be doing an editorial photograph with a Ford Fiesta car. Obviously, there doesnt need to be a Ford Fiesta in the picture. It is preferred that there be a car in the shot, but not everyone may have access to this, so I understand if there isnt one. You must be STANDING posing in the street or somewhere outdoors in front of the car. The idea is to look like you are the coolest frickin person in the world and you WILL be judged on your fashion sense, so choose your outfit wisely. Here are a few photos for reference, make sure you research all of them though if you are unsure of what we are looking for.

You may submit FIVE photos for this shoot and they must be in by Wednesday 14th Jan, so you have a week and a half to get in both shoots.

NOTE FOR ALL PHOTOSHOOTS FROM HERE TIL THE END:

I really do urge you guys to think about EVERYTHING within your photographs- not just your face and body but makeup, wardrobe, props, set, lighting, contrast etc. All of these things can greatly effect the final mood or feel of a photograph, so be sure to think about all these things and experiment with different things every week. The person who makes it to the end will be the person who has proven to understand what a great fashion shot looks like and what response it will cause for the viewer.

Most of all, enjoy and have fun with the experience and dont hesitate to ask for advice!

The first photo shoot sounds like something I'd be good at! The second.. I'm definitely going to get a couple of stairs in my neighborhood haha!

Haha, you should make a speculation thread! I'm guessing either extra frames for your next shoot, or a higher call-out!

I think i have some pictures in my house where i can just take them out and use the frame. I'll think of something lol.

that's what i have to do, and ALL of these photo frames in my house are 8x10 at biggest... so it'll be interesting to try to make that work.

and i'm digging and digging for outfits, mostly for the car shoot, because i'm wondering if i should just be shirtless in the frame picture. the shoot it's based on was all about working the dress, but since ours are only supposed to be shoulders-up, i think shirtless would better make an intimate portrait setting.

I'm going out to do the car photoshoot now. I found this wooden thing with a bar in between that i might be able to use for the frame picture.

Does it have to be a picture frame? or can i make one out of wood? I have a lot of wood lying around the house and i think i could put one together.

i was debating the same thing, about a make-shift frame and if i don't like the way my photos come out with the 8x10 frame, i might just do it and see if it comes out good. it says we're allowed to be creative, so i think as long as it looks like you're framed, you stand a decent chance at not getting eliminated, based then on your modeling skills.

I'm working on my frame shoot right now - I'm trying to use as much variety as possible but at the same time I keep on getting nervous. I hope that what I'm doing is a little creative or it comes off as it. I don't want to be cut first, so all I can do is work hard and hope.

I cant do my car 'shoot right now because it's out on the street (I'd look a little crazy especially since I'm in the suburbs LOL). I need my brother to help me out and he'll tease me forever but whatever.

Okay, so I'm really confused about the first shoot. We get a picture frame and pose inside of it? Or do we pose, send the pic to you, and you put it in a frame?

I hope so because that's what I did.

I just did the car one, took me like all day lol. It was very windy and like 30 degrees so alot of the pictures my face was all messed up. I was also standing on my car so i hope i didnt put any dents . my dad would kill me if i did

YES you can have diff personalities, variety is always a good idea.

YES your hands can be in the shot.
