It's operable, she's having surgery next month. She's just very very nervous to find out if it's cancerous or not, and brain surgery in general. My sister had brain surgery. It's scary shit.

Thanks guys. I guess it's difficult to see things for the positive right now, not because I'm worried about her, but because she's so scared herself. I hate the idea that she's going through this and I can't be there with her.

why can't you be with her?
when people can't see the positive, it's better for everyone around them to do it.

She's two years younger than me. So she's in North Bay, in senior year (and having to take another year of high school if she wants to get into premed which she wants to do), and I'm six hours away in Waterloo, in the middle of midterms.
What I really wanna do is give the girl a big fat hug. She's quite anxious about her sugery, however she is trying to prepare herself for it. She's currently working at a placement with a forensic pathologist, cutting people open. So she's hoping that will get her used to the idea of the surgery. Of course, it's more the idea of not wanting to hear the news of whether or not the tumor is cancerous. But she is still freaked out by the idea of having her brain out of her head. My sister said that's also something that had a huge effect on her, possibly more because she was eight at the time. There's also a chance, because of where the tumor is (I forget the name of the lobe) that she could lose her sense of smell/taste in the surgery. However, I know that these "chances" are often more "worst case scenarios." There was a "chance" my sister could have gone blind from her surgery, but she didn't.
Like I said, Allie needs a hug. She's being a big ol' chicken (and has every right to be) and because her family wants to ease others into it, the only people who know right now are her family, myself, her grandparents, and the pathologist she works for.
I actually don't have any pictures of the two of us, except this from a dance competition years ago. She's the bespeckled nerd in the middle and I'm the whore behind the hockey player.

Heh heh, she's five feet or five-one maybe. Wow, that was a whole two years ago, when she was a junior troupe-er and I was her peer tutor. She's now definitely the "hot girl" in her grade. Hah. She was sooo nerdy back then!

Thanks Jonny. She's obviously one of the only things in my thoughts right now. She knows I love her and just want to hug her to death.
She still has her spunky sense of humour. She was talking about having fun "cutting people up" at her new job, saying that "Using internal organs as hand puppets is often far less appropriate than it is hilarious."
