Well Karasu, for the record, I didn't notice, because that facial expression is always really good and effective.
I think it was noticable this week because it was a bit to exaggerated and obvious.

It's not always about fierce, though. If the shoot is appropriate (oh wait, I know what it is next time, heh heh heh!) you should totally try something kind of quirky, kind of surprised, like "I just opened my eyes and saw light for the first time!"

see i was always afraid of doing a softer expression becuase i thought my eyes would look dead. im gunna study those pics and do something like that for the next pic lol
